The Midwest Mountain Lions brought women’s tackle football back to southeast WI and northeast IL which has seen 11 teams come and go since 1999.
We’re building towards the future of women’s tackle football. Our team includes players and coaches from a diverse background who have come together to create a strong community where we strive to build the sport, achieve success on the field, and help our communities.
Our mission is to help womxn improve and engage through competitive football and sisterhood.
Our team focuses on teaching players the game of football no matter their prior experience, or lack thereof. Football is a sport that not only includes, but absolutely needs, womxn of all body types. If you have a body, it’s our type. We also give player safety a high priority. Our coaches insist every player learn proper technique to reduce the risk of concussion and injury.
We also care about our community and give back where we can. During our 2022 season, we raised money and supplies for the Women’s Resource Center of Racine. We volunteered our time to help run several American Legion events, and we helped out at the Starving Artists Fair hosted by the Racine Art Guild.
